8...

The shipment is gone.. on a truck somewhere or a plane or something.. but it's gone and I don't have to think about it anymore.  Seven of eight tubs are packed, weighed, and holes are drilled for zip ties.  Last night I laid in bed and couldn't figure out what I needed to do to "get ready for Qatar."  I don't want to pack the last tub until the day before we fly.  I've had a list in my head for a very long time.  Every night at bedtime, I lay in bed and think think think and make mental lists.
I didn't have a list last night.  So, just for good measure, I made a little grocery list...

I decided that since the major prep for the move is done, we've moved out of our house, we've said most of our farewells (though some of the toughest are yet to come), and we're basically in a holding pattern for 8 more days, I would do a series of counting down the days until we leave.

So, here we are, 8 days before we will be on an airplane headed toward our next adventure.
This is how we spent our day:

We needed to get our POA papers notarized, that was our big goal for the day, but somehow in all the crazy, the papers were missing.  We decided to head to the library to print them again, but got there before it opened.  What to do?  Head to the park for half an hour of fun!

P and M at the park.
R being a brave little lady.
R, M, and P posing for a quick shot.
Just how many kids can fit on a tire swing?

After some fun at the park, we got back into the van to head to the library and found the papers in the van...  Since the kids were looking forward to some fresh books (most of ours are in the shipment), we stopped anyway, then headed to get the papers notarized at our bank.  After driving a couple towns away, we realized that our bank didn't have a branch there after all..  So, we headed to the farm to pick veggies.
Filling her bag.
Filled it up to the top with beans.  Yum!

Now that's a big zucchini... Lots of bread and muffins from that one.
M insisted on picking the pea pods that had been picked already.
He yanked up some lovely onions too.
Love gardens.

Silly chickens.

M giving the chickens some treats.

Getting tired, but headed out for a gator ride to feed the cows some over ripe lettuce and corn husks.

Feeding the cows.

Trying to get the calves to come over.

We finished up picking loads and loads of veggies, fed the chickens, went on a gator ride, gave the cows some treats, then headed home.  We came in, had a quick snack, and were off to the pool to cool down.  It was a super busy day, and we didn't accomplish our one and only goal, but hey.. we've still got tomorrow :)
